WELCOME

2009 Northern Ireland and Ulster Ranking Lists.

As usual the compilation of these lists has meant trawling through literally thousands of performances and inevitably there will be some which have got lost in the ether. Please do not take any ommision as a personal slight but feel free to offer any additions or amendments. These must include full details of performance including venue/date/date of birth/club etc.

The season so far has been memorable for some great performances by a small number of athletes with Ciara Mageean and Kerry Harty particularly standing out for their Irish Junior 800 and Northern Ireland Senior 3000 metre records while Kelly McNeice finally broke the 1500m record.  Adam Ingram has been the most impressive Youth by dipping under 1:54 twice in the 800m and winning the Northern Ireland Senior title. Encouraging performances also by Christine McMahon, Joanna Mills, Jason Harvey, Emma Doherty.

The big event in Northern Ireland this year was  the School's International on July 18th at the Antrim Stadium, the first time this prestigious event has come to the Province and it was well supported. The following Saturday 25th July saw the final of the McCain's Young Athletes League also in Antrim with City of Derry Spartans again winning the expensive honour of representing Northern Ireland  in the Finals in Birmingham.

Joanna Mills breaks 6m barrier.... Kelly McNeice runs 2:04......Kerry Harty breaks NI 3000m record........big PB for Stephen Scullion......Jason Smyth PB in 100m for European Qualifier
